As another school year starts, it’s important to be reminded of the audience in which you/we serve.
I grew up with dial phones and pay phones and never even imagined mobil phones. Today, my kids don’t remember their life without having mobile phones. It’s a different world!
The “smart phone” is changing the way we interact with one another and I’m convinced that youth workers will be the ones to lead out and help develop of ethic of “phone rules” for relating to one another (I’m looking forward to learning from those out there who have figured out how to communicate boundaries). Maybe this will trigger someone experimenting with “rules of relating”… and how those “rules” play out in youth group and within families.
