Yep…this is an AWESOME video!

A buddy sent me this video with the title: “People are awesome!” While I wouldn’t disagree, I watched this video and thought, “Wow! God is awesome!”

These scenes made me pause to thank God for being majestic, beautiful and creative as Creator.

People’s stunts were pretty spectacular too!

I love the boys at The Youth Cartel do with their weekly YouTube clip & discussion starter each week and I thought we could collectively do the same thing.

So, question: How would you use this clip in a ministry setting? Share them here.

This is great. Reminds of our urgent youth ministry intern and his birthday is in 5 mins PST, definitely sharing this with him on his birthday not just because he’ll love it but because I’m thanful for hs awesome dedication when it comes to teaching an being real with our youth about faith. Thank you!

    Crazy!

It could be an intro to the power of God if we take it from the creation side of things.
Also I thought about our potential as humans. God made us to do great things. We just need to trust in him and take the leap.

I like that combo! Good idea.

It’s crazy what people can do when they set their minds on accomplishing something?
What is something wild and crazy (like skydiving off a cliff or doing a backflip with a car) that we could only imagine doing for God that would be possible if we set our minds on doing it?

We’re doing a winter retreat using the Seriously Ridiculous theme from YS a while ago….this video is the perfect intro to the weekend.

I think, having just watched this for the 35th time today, that it speaks almost prophetically about the life of a teenager.  I would show the clip as a precuser to worship saying something like “At times life is exciting, risky, terrifying, exhilirating, dangerous, beautiful, ugly (when you land wrong), mundane (in the unseen training for snowboarders/climbers etc)….and yet the camara reminds us that God is with us through it all, involved in every little moment, and it’s all wonderful to Him.  Not some cold and distant entity, but delighting in His creation…”  Maybe read Psalm 139

sounds a bit Disney but I think it would work…

I am so using this video this Sunday as we discuss how some of the things God will ask us to do are scary and potentially danegerous to our physical self or popular self if not down right impossible to do ourselves, but when we do them through His power they can be amazing! Thanks for the idea!! ~M

Wow, thanks for the shout out.

A couple of thoughts as I watched this:
    1. It’s sad I have most of the original videos from this compilation bookmarked, right?
    2. I’m thankful to Dan Evans, my youth pastor, who encouraged us to do some of the stupidest stuff ever in youth group. (Rock climbing, Class V white water rafting, random trips to barely open eastern european countries, going up in gliders…)
    3. Adventure connects us to God, no idea why, but it does.

    Topic ideas?
We are really, really small. But small being can be a big deal.

your youth pastor took you hang gliding? Wow! Imagine the permission needed now.

Actually, not hang gliding. We went up in gliders! http://youtu.be/ccL8SwQLuPU

When you do youth ministry in Germany, you can do anything. Liability, schmiability!

I got $20 from my mom for it and told her about it after it was over.
