He is a three time Gold Medallion Award winning author and has written books for parents, students, children, youth ministry and church leaders. Jim has over 1.5 million resources in print in over 20 languages. Why I invited Jim…
It is hard for me to imagine hosting a Student Leadership Conference without Jim Burns being part of it. My own journey of leadership began when I was in high school and Jim was my youth pastor. I remember Jim saying, “Doug, I think God has great plans for you as a leader…I don’t know what they are, but I know you’re going to be a leader who God uses.” That simple affirmation stirred within me a passion to pursue God’s will for my life. Jim gave me opportunities to lead as a teenager and it was his belief in me that led to a deeper discovery of God’s call on my life. So yeah, I want Jim involved with this event because he’s a hero, mentor and has an amazing voice that teenagers need to hear.
